DU School of Nursing
Duquesne University School of Nursing has a strong tradition of pioneering new approaches. Historically, it was the first baccalaureate program in nursing in the state of Pennsylvania, and has continued to be on the cutting edge of innovation and experimentation. The undergraduate program has remained a strong and vibrant program since its inception. We have recently enriched the program with community-based experiences with an eye toward health care reform. Our graduates enjoy a high degree of success in the licensing examination, and achieve excellent positions in clinical practice. The program of study is designed to be a vigorous blend of the liberal arts and sciences along with the professional requirements.
We were the first School of Nursing in the country to offer a PhD completely online. Our online graduate programs are interactive and asynchronous, so every student can create a flexible learning environment, one that makes important educational and career aspirations an achievable reality.
I am proud of the learning community we have here at Duquesne, one that stresses collegiality and respect as well as professionalism. Our aim is to help students earn the credentials that can improve their lives--and the lives of those they serve.
