Kevin L. Unger, MBA/MSHA, CHE is President and CEO of Poudre Valley Health System. Mr. Unger came to Poudre Valley Health System in 2001. He has held the positions of Vice President of Planning and Strategic Development for the system, Vice President of Operations for Poudre Valley Hospital and in 2005 was named the President/CEO. Before joining Poudre Valley Hospital, Mr. Unger held positions at University Hospital and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Unger was selected in 2009 as the recipient of the Robert S. Hudgens Young Healthcare Executive of the year through the American College of Healthcare Executives, a 40,000 member organization. In 2007, Mr. Unger was recognized as an "up and comer" by Modern Healthcare magazine, designating him as one of the 12 young "rising stars" of the healthcare administration profession in the country.
A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, Mr. Unger has a BA in sociology from Colorado State University, an MS in health administration and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. Mr. Unger is currently completing a PhD in organizational development and change from Colorado State University.
