Much of the nurse advocacy legislation being presented in the 82nd Texas Legislature was derived from the Winkler County Nurses case in Winkler County, TX. This will surely prove to be a landmark nursing case, and will generate nursing advocacy laws and policy for many years to come. Texas Nurses Association supported the Winkler County nurses both emotionally and financially throughout their trials. TNA advocates professional standards and practices in a variety of health care settings that involve nurses.
TNA is in the middle of a state-wide Member-Get-A-Member Campaign. Visit the TNA website at www.texasnurses.org to view campaign rules, download recruitment presentations, and identify nursing leaders in the organization.
TNA D35's Educational event on 3-3-11 is not just for nurses. The presentation will address nurse advocacy from the administrator's standpoint as well. Invite community leaders to attend the presentation too.
Hope to see you there!
